Stormwater work Main Street MittagongLast modified: September 30, 2009 - 12:58 AM
Work is scheduled to commence on Tuesday 6th October 2009 with Council staff constructing storm water drainage system along northern side of Main Street, Mittagong between Pioneer Street and Bessemer Street. It is anticipated that the work will be completed in four to five weeks time (weather permitting). The work involves:
Changed Traffic Conditions: Traffic within the work zone will be controlled by appropriate signage. Water filled barriers will be in place as a safety measure to protect work zone. One lane of traffic may be closed at certain stages of construction. During such times traffic within the work zone will be controlled by traffic controllers. Work hours will normally be from 7am to 3.30pm daily. Road users are cautioned to follow the changed traffic conditions and speed restrictions and to exercise care while traveling through the work zone. They also need to be aware of heavy plants and equipments on site and the possibility of presence of loose stones on the pavement surface. Council requests that the public exercises patience during this construction period and it will make every efforts to minimize disruptions. It is inevitable, however, that some minor delays or inconvenience may occur during the course of work.
