Bundanoon Sewerage Augmentation

Last modified: November 4, 2009 - 12:12 AM

Construction of the Bundanoon Sewerage Augmentation commenced in July 2008 and commissioning of all the various components is anticipated by the end of 2009. This project comprises the following components:

  • Upgrading of five (5) existing Sewage pumping stations;
  • Increasing two (2) sections of the trunk main to the treatment plant;
  • Upgrading the treatment plant to improve effluent quality and to provide capacity for projected population growth to 2031 (5400 equivalent persons);
  • An effluent management system involving the partial reuse of reclaimed water for agricultural irrigation, the seasonal watering of Ferndale Reserve soccer fields and release of the remaining reclaimed water to Reedy Creek; and
  • Provision of a telemetry system to continuously monitor the operation of the sewage treatment plant and pumping stations.

The Bundanoon sewerage system is being upgraded through a funding partnership between Wingecarribee Shire Council and the NSW State Government .  State Government funding is provided through the Country Towns Water Supply and Sewerage Program and the Sydney Catchment Authority's Accelerated Sewerage Program.
